Holiday to Devon 2021!

After a year of lockdown, our holiday to Devon in Easter 2021 was a lovely change of scenery! We were soooo lucky with the weather; not a spot of rain all week! We saw some lovely sights, animals and ate some fab food!

Our holiday was self-catering in North Devon; restaurants weren’t open as they weren’t allowed to be yet, so we mainly cooked for ourselves and had takeaways. We had found a delicious pasty shop with several vegan options; we all had a Keralan curry pasty and it was divineeee! We had so many ice creams and picnics in pretty places and we even found vegan scones!

The people working in the cafes we visited were always friendly, so don’t be afraid to double check your ice-cream is dairy free or to ask for the vegan options. In one of the ice-cream shops I wanted to double check that the sorbet was vegan, and I ended up being recommended which flavours to have!  So yes, just ask!

We also saw some gorgeous sunsets and went on lots of walks and saw so many cows, goats, horses and alpacas!

I hope this provides some reassurance that holidays as a vegan are not difficult and you’ll still be able to eat some fantastic food, perhaps that you wouldn’t have thought to try before!

& you can check out my Instagram to see more photos from this holiday (look out for the baby goats and baby alpacas)!
